Medical properties of a sophora Japanese are connected, basically, with the most valuable biologically active agent of a sophora - Rutinum (it is also a part of a drug Ascorutinum) which reduces fragility and permeability of capillaries that promotes strengthening of walls of blood vessels. The sophora is applied as treatment for internal bleedings of various origin, at a stomach and duodenum ulcer, gastritis, colitis. Reduces arterial pressure, it is applied as treatment for hypertonia, cardiovascular diseases. The most expressed medical effect is achieved by combinating it with application of European mistletoe white. The sophora has bactericidal action concerning a yellow-green staphylococcus and a coliform bacillus, anti-inflammatory, anti-edema and wound healing activity. Infusion of a sophora is applied outwardly as stupes, an irrigation at acute and chronic purulent inflammatory processes (abscesses, a phlegmon, purulent wounds, burns, trophic ulcers, an eczema, phlegmonous blackheads, a mastitis, a paraproctitis, a lupus erythematosus). In China a sophora is applied for internal and nose bleedings, for prophylaxis of an insult, for a hemorrhoids. In Bulgaria a sophora is applied for treatment and prophylaxis of extravasations in heart and a retina of eyes, at a hypertonia, an atherosclerosis, a hemorrhagic diathesis, a ulcerous colitis, a septicaemia, disease of kidneys, a sugar diabetes, rheumatic disease (D.Jordanov). We recommend it for treatment of an atherosclerosis, a thrombophlebitis, a hemorrhoids, for improvement of sight. It would be better to combine application of a sophora with a yam Caucasian. In a combination with a hellebore it treats a hyperfunction of a thyroid gland, promotes a resorption of nodes and cysts in a thyroid gland. A water solution of infusion of a sophora is rubbed into a skin of the head in case of baldness, is instilled into nosein case of a rhinitis and a genyantritis, is used for rinsing a mouth in case of a dentagra and gingivitis, as compresses in case of styes. Skin is slushed with steamed fruits in case of eczema and psoriasis. In folk medicine sophora is also applied inside in case of a pulmonary tuberculosis, a bronchitis, a bronchial asthma as an expectorant, in case of a chronic pancreatitis, diseases of a liver, as appetitive and a hypnagogue, outwardly in case of anabroses of a uteral cervix and an inflammation of female sexual organs as a squirting. The sophora takes away radioactive nuclides from an organism, salts of heavy metals, therefore it is especially recommended to people living in ecologically unfavorable regions.
